Anytime Korean BBQ

anytime simple Korean bbq is at your virtual fingertips. the authentic recipe to this would be the following which was adapted from Jenny Kwak’s & Liz Fried’s book, Dok Suni: Recipes from My Mother’s Korean Kitchen. There are many Korean BBQ recipes out there; having tested quite a few, Jenny Kwak’s is the one I return to most. 

2 1/2 pounds of rib eye beef very thinly sliced or about 2 pounds of short ribs, as pictured above

2 tbs soy sauce

2 teaspoons of finely crushed garlic

2 tbs of brown sugar

1 tbs rice wine (sake)

pinch of black pepper

mix all the ingredients above together and set aside

1/2 of fresh kiwi juiced or orange juice – this acts as a tenderizer – place ribs in a shallow pan and let them soak in this juice for about 5-10minutes. turn frequently. then transfer the beef to the mixture above for about 20 minutes, then begin grilling in your indoor grill pan or bbq.

very simple. very delicious. enjoy

Alternate Version:

marinate beef ribs in a (msg-free) bottled Korean bbq sauce for a day or two and then grill.

fast.easy.delicious too.
